The Lilli Grenvicz Memorial Fund
Lilli Grenvicz left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She embodied generosity, compassion, and a deep love for gardening, animals, and helping students find their path in life.
Lilli was actively involved with several organizations that reflected her passions, including the Atlanta Humane Society, Athens Area Humane Society, Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and the UGA State Botanical Garden. As a teacher, she also dedicated her time to tutoring and mentoring students—especially those exploring whether their future would lead them to higher education or a vocational or technical career.
Above all, Lilli was known for putting others first and for the genuine care she showed to every person she met.
Honoring Lilli’s Legacy
After Lilli’s passing in February 2023, her husband, Ed, made it his mission to honor her legacy by supporting the causes she loved most.
Lilli had a unique gardening style—informal, eclectic, and filled with her favorite flower, the hydrangea. In her honor, Ed dedicated the SW Flower Garden at the UGA State Botanical Garden, and also endowed the Lilli Grenvicz Director of Horticulture and Grounds position.
To celebrate Lilli’s love for animals, the Lilli Grenvicz transport truck now helps the Athens Area Humane Society move animals to shelters where they have greater opportunities for adoption.
Supporting Students and Community Needs
To continue Lilli’s commitment to helping others, the Lilli Grenvicz Memorial Fund was established through The Georgia Club Foundation.
This fund supports:
- Lilli Grenvicz Memorial Scholarships for vocational and technical education
- Assistance for community organizations supported by The Georgia Club Foundation
- Programs that address unmet needs within the surrounding community
Continuing Her Impact
Through the Lilli Grenvicz Memorial Fund, The Georgia Club Foundation is able to carry forward Lilli’s spirit of generosity and compassion—helping students pursue their futures and supporting organizations that strengthen our community.
Lilli’s legacy continues to touch lives, just as she did.
